An Interview With the Co-Author of "Wellness Orgasms: The Fun Way to Live Well and Die Healthy"
During a recent (May 2015) speaking and consulting tour of companies and varied institutions in America, Australian savant, polymath and business philosopher Dr. Grant Donovan was interviewed about the nature of wellness orgasms, my 700 electronic newsletters and several of life’s persistent questions that affect quality of life, including health and happiness.
The following questions put to Dr. Donovan and his replies follow.
DON: What are wellness orgasms (WOs)?
DONOVAN: Wellness Orgasms are not really things but, rather, the term is a metaphor that promotes REAL wellness thinking. It’s designed to help move the wellness conversation away from disease prevention and towards the concepts of REAL wellness that are so eloquently explored in our book and all your latest writings.
DON: What do you realistically hope to accomplish in this endeavor?
DONOVAN: Nothing. The world and everything that happens within it is inherently meaningless, just like the WO. But, given pure happenstance has us sitting on the third rock from the sun, with nowhere to go, then helping others with some fun, rational thinking seems like a great way to fill in our time. The world can only be a better place for the hapless billions if they are wellness orgasming each day, with freedom from gods and dictators, a full stomach, involvement in engaging activities and immersion in communities of rational thought.
DON: Are there enough people out there likely to come forward and declare for WOs if only they are somehow led to the altar by your WO magnum opus and its liberating concepts that spark REAL wellness lifestyles and mindsets?
DONOVAN: No, the fundamentalist McDonalisation of the world leaves very few rational thinkers available. Besides, we lack an altar or any attractive sacrificial structure.
DON: How has your nearly unique experience (shared perhaps only by Bill Hettler, Judd Allen, Bill Gaertner, my wife Carol and daughter Jeanne and son Jon-and possibly John Travis) of having read all 74 print editions and all 700 electronic ARDELL WELLNESS REPORTS contributed to your glowing personality, mental acuity, liberation from spirituality and wondrous sense of humor?
DONOVAN: The AWR has been my bible since 1984. Who knows what channeling influence your thoughts have had on my development over the past 31 years? I’m not sure but it’s been a lot of fun.
DON: What will your priorities be if, as a consequence of this book, you are asked to lead Australia and the Western World?
DONOVAN: Treat everyone well, engage them in the decisions that affect their lives and empower them to execute their decisions. Oh, and introduce a tax on religion.
Be well, good wishes and thanks for considering this advice.
